Tottenham Hotspur are starting to plan for life without talisman Heung-min Son as the South Korea international is entering the final year of his contract.
Since joining from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, Son has been a vital part of the Spurs outfit, deservingly wearing the captain’s armband for the London-based team.
Over the last decade, Son’s made 451 appearances for Spurs, with 173 goals and 98 assists winning the Asian International Player of the Year four times and the Puskas award in 2020.
However, with the winger now 32-years-old, Spurs are starting to look to the future for his replacement.

Tottenham Hotspur identify Marcus Rashford as Heung-min Son replacement
As such, Footfall Transfers has reported that the prime candidate is Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.
Rashford has recently found his form once more while on loan with Aston Villa, thriving under Unai Emery.
In 17 games, Rashford’s grabbed four goals and six assists, including a goal tonight in Villa’s 2-1 loss to Manchester City.
Whilst Villa hold an option to buy at the end of the season, Tottenham Hotspur are waiting in the wings to move for the attacker should Villa choose not to make the move permanent.
The current value of the option to buy stands at £40 million for the England international; however, there have been recent concerns that United may have to pay the 27-year-old as much as £20 million to get him to accept a pay cut for other teams to move for him.
His astronomical £325,000 per week salary has been a key obstacle for his many suitors, with Europe’s elite like Barcelona and PSG continuing to monitor the United wantaway.
Ultimately this all depends on Aston Villa and their long-term plans for Rashford, however, if he does end up back at Old Trafford, it’s hard to imagine that it would be for long.
