Next month, Manchester United will be taking on Athletic Club in the Semi-Finals of the Europa League after United secured a dramatic win over Lyon in the Quarter-Finals at Old Trafford
After a 2-2 first leg in France, everything was to play for on home soil, with the clubs ending 90 minutes 2-2 yet again.
Then, extra time descended into chaos, with Lyon going 4-2 up, seemingly booking their slot in the next round.
However, United fought back, scoring three goals in seven minutes, with Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo drawing the teams level before a last-minute Harry Maguire header sealed the win.
Now, United are preparing for their first leg trip to Bilbao on 1st May 2025, whilst they’ll then host the LaLiga side a week later on 8th May 2025.

Changes to the ticket system at Old Trafford
In advance of the home fixture, The Daily Mail has reported that there will be some changes to the ticket system for the second leg.
United fans will be able to access their tickets as near-field communication (NFC), the same way that a phone does contactless payments in a shop.
At the start of the season United introduced tickets being available on the app, with these more recent changes being made “following issues with unauthorised sharing of tickets for previous cup games” during the season.
However, this move may cause some fans difficulty with reports of fans who had NFC tickets for the Lyon game struggling to gain access through the turnstiles at Old Trafford.
