Manchester United’s summer clear-out is shaping up to be an eventful one, with several players potentially heading out.
The latest in the spotlight is Tyrell Malacia, who joined PSV Eindhoven on loan in January, but his stint back in his home country has not gone as expected.
With multiple players expected to depart Old Trafford, manager Ruben Amorim will have his hands full deciding which players will stay or go.
Recent reports suggest that the Red Devils’ full-back, who joined from Feyenoord in 2022, has not convinced PSV’s coaching staff.
After signing him on loan, PSV had hoped to see a rejuvenated Tyrell Malacia, but instead, they have seen little return on their investment.
The 23-year-old, who was once hailed for his attacking capabilities, has started just three matches during his loan spell and failed to make a noticeable impact.

The Dutch club, who have been enjoying a solid season, preferred to trust Brazilian left-back Mauro Junior instead, with Malacia contributing zero goals or assists in his ten appearances.
This lack of progress at PSV comes on the heels of Malacia’s struggles at United, where he found himself out of favor due to a mix of injuries and a crowded left-back position.
United’s full-back options are now deeper than ever, with Luke Shaw and new signing Patrick Dorgu providing ample competition.
Now, it appears that PSV won’t be taking up their option to buy Malacia at the end of the season, leaving the Dutchman’s future in limbo, and that is according to Eindovens Dagblad, as per Voetbal Primeur.
United will likely struggle to sell the player unless a club is willing to gamble on him, considering his underwhelming spell in the Netherlands.
The lack of interest from PSV means Malacia could soon find himself back at Old Trafford, further complicating United’s already crowded squad.
This could lead to even more challenges for United as they try to secure deals for other outgoing players, hoping that Malacia’s situation doesn’t add to their summer transfer headache.
