Manchester United return to Europa League action tonight as they prepare to face Lyon in a quarter-final tie that could define their season.
The Red Devils are unbeaten in the competition this campaign, with 21 goals scored and 10 games navigated without defeat.
Despite European promise, United remain stuck in 13th position in the Premier League, prompting more scrutiny over several positions in the squad.
One of those is in goal, where Andre Onana has endured a turbulent debut season since arriving from Inter Milan.
With rumours circling over a potential change between the sticks, all eyes will be on United’s number one when he steps out in Lyon.
That attention has only intensified after Onana confidently told media this week that Manchester United are “way better” than Lyon – a statement that hasn’t gone down well in France.
The Cameroon international’s comments have stirred tension ahead of tonight’s clash, giving the French side extra incentive to cause an upset.

Onana’s bold words have come during a time when his future at Old Trafford is again being questioned.
Manchester United eyeing Bart Verbruggen

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester United have reached out for information about Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen.
The Dutch shot-stopper is also on the radar of AC Milan, who could sell Mike Maignan this summer if they fail to agree on a new contract.
Bart Verbruggen, who cost Brighton around €20million, is now believed to be worth more than double that, making him one of the hottest young goalkeeping prospects in Europe.
United’s reported inquiry into the 21-year-old adds further doubt over Onana’s long-term role under Ruben Amorim.
Lille’s Lucas Chevalier has also been mentioned as a potential Milan target, but United’s interest appears to be focused on Verbruggen.
For now, though, Onana remains Amorim’s first choice and will start tonight in France – under the spotlight, with pressure rising, and a point to prove both on and off the pitch.
