Following the 1-1 draw with Arsenal at Old Trafford this afternoon, Manchester United winger Amad Diallo has taken to X in response to comments he thought were made by Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes before the game.
Despite being ruled out of the fixture due to injury, Amad Diallo made sure to express his feelings in response to what he felt were Gabriel’s provocative comments in an interview prior to the English Premier League clash at Old Trafford.
After a string of lacklustre performances from The Red Devils, manager Ruben Amorim seemed satisfied with his squad’s performance.
In his post-match interview, the Portuguese manager stated: “If I look at the performance, I’m quite pleased, even with all the problems”.
That’s likely a sentiment shared by the United fanbase.
Nobody was holding out too much hope, but Amorim’s men put in a fairly decent performance once Bruno Fernandes put them ahead.
And it seems that Amad Diallo
For some context, there had been a fake interview clip of Gabriel that went viral and allegedly featured the Brazilian responding to the question, “are you particularly scared of any United attackers you might face on Sunday?”
In the fake clip, Gabriel replied, “I’m pretty sure I have scored more than all of them”.
It seems that Amad didn’t know that the clip was not authentic at the time.
Taking his chance to respond after the draw this afternoon, the Ivory Coast attacker replied to the post after the game with a GIF of Joshua Zirkzee celebrating against United after scoring the winning penalty from their January FA Cup clash and captioned just ‘Ahahah’.
It seems that the message was subsequently given to the United attacker about the fake nature of the initial Gabriel comments and he has since deleted the comment from the social media platform.
The tweet had gone viral, with over 1.1m views at one point, with United fans praising their man for defending The Red Devils against an opponent.
