It doesn’t rain, but it pours.

Manchester United are out of this season’s FA Cup.

Facing fellow English Premier League side Fulham at home, The Red Devils went out on penalties.

To be honest, the players can’t complain.

Outside of Bruno Fernandes’ equaliser, the home side didn’t really look like they would score.

That goal made it 1-1 and United didn’t really look like adding another outside of a few half chances.

Going into the game, the squad was already stretched when it came to the first team.

Head coach Ruben Amorim only had 7 substitutes on the bench and two of them were goalkeepers.

That shows you just how limited options are for Manchester United right now.

It did mean that recent signing Ayden Heaven made his debut for the club.

If the recent developments on the playing squad is any indicator, then it seems that Heaven may be getting more game time in the near future.

That’s because the youngster came on for former Manchester United captain Harry Maguire.

Maguire was swapped for the former Arsenal defender on 90 minutes and it seemed to be injury related at the time.

Manchester United had already taken off fellow central defender Leny Yoro and it didn’t seem that replacing Harry Maguire was part of the game plan.

But head coach Ruben Amorim indicated that the defender had suffered an injury.

Speaking after the game, Amorim wasn’t too positive about the news.

“I have to see how Harry Maguire is.

“It’s a tough moment in that aspect, but we have to move on.

“We will be a competitive team on Thursday”.

By stating we have to move on, Ruben Amorim seems to be indicating that it’s unlikely that Harry Maguire will be fit for the UEFA Europa League clash with Real Sociedad and the team will have to go on without him.

Despite the blow, the good news is that Ayden Heaven didn’t look out of place on the pitch.

MUFC fans will have been pleased with his contribution and will be confident that he can slot into the side if required.

While the loss of experience in Harry Maguire will be a blow, hopefully Heaven can continue impresses if Ruben Amorim gives him more game time in Spain this week.
