Manchester United are in desperate need of a new striker to join their ranks in the summer, with Ruben Amorim’s current options failing to hit the mark.
Amorim has Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee at his disposal, however, are failing to establish themselves as prolific goal-scorers at Old Trafford.
Hojlund has now reached 17 games without a goal, with his tendency of backing into defenders with limited goal contributions leading to the coaching staff growing impatient with the striker.
There’ have been concerns reported that due to his poor form, United will be unable to offload him in the Summer, however stock in Italy remains high, with Napoli considering a swoop for the star.
This could well unlock the potential of a swap-deal, with United keen on bringing Napoli reject Victor Osimhen to Old Trafford, with his form on loan with Galatasaray making him the prolific goalscorer United need.
However, new reports have emerged of a target much closer to home as a potential alternative to Osimhen.

Manchester United focus on Liam Delap
GiveMeSport has now reported that United are looking to Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap as a potential alternative to Victor Osimhen this summer.
Despite Ipswich sitting in 18th-place, Delap has had a strong season, with ten goals and two assists in 26 games.
With Ipswich looking likely to be relegated to the Championship, it’s likely that Delap will be looking to remain in the Premier League, being a proven striker at the top level of English football.
As such, United feel they have a better chance at convincing Delap to move to Old Trafford than succeeding in signing Osimhen.
However, United do have Premier League rivals Chelsea to compete with to secure Delap’s signing, with The Blues being asked for £50 million for the striker in the winter transfer window.
Sources close to United revealed in the report that the club are concerned of missing out on Delap if they continue to remain focused on the Nigerian striker.
