Antony has enjoyed a fine start to life at Real Betis, since departing Manchester United on loan.

The Brazilian didn’t really get going under Erik ten Hag and didn’t look suitable for Ruben Amorim’s system.

The United head coach preferred other options on the right-hand side of his 3-4-2-1 system.

Consisting of Amad Diallo, Mason Mount, Noussair Mazraoui, and Diogo Dalot.

Despite interest from multiple clubs across Europe and the Middle East, Antony chose Real Betis as his preferred destination.

The move has paid off, with the winger thriving in La Liga, scoring three goals and providing two assists in just six games.

His performances have earned him a Player of the Month nomination, with Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini and teammate Isco praising his impact.

Antony red card decision now overturned after appeal

However, Antony was sent off in added time during Betis’ 2-1 win over Getafe for a reckless challenge on Juan Iglesias.

Replays later showed he attempted to avoid contact, prompting Betis to appeal the decision.

As Fabrizio Romano revealed, La Liga authorities accepted the appeal and overturned the red card.

Antony is now free to play against Real Madrid at the Estadio Benito Villamarin on Saturday night.

United fans will be hoping Antony can carry on thriving at his new club.

The Red Devils need all the money they can get, amidst cost-cutting measures under INEOS.

The departure of Antony would very much free up a portion of wages that could be invested better into the squad.

Alternative scenario could be the Brazilian finding his place under Amorim.

However, that remains rather unlikely.
