Last year, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS took over 27.7% of Manchester United, taking charge of football operations at Old Trafford.

United became the third football club in INEOS’ portfolio after owning French club OGC Nice and FC Lausanne-Sport in the Swiss Super League.

However, Ratcliffe’s company also have a multi-million-pound sponsorship deal with other Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur which they are now reconsidering.

The Times has reported that INEOS are looking to end the contract early in a bid to drastically reduce their investment in sport.

Back in 2022, INEOS agreed a five-year deal with Spurs to promote their 4×4 Grenadier car, with the logo being displayed around the Tottenham Stadium.

The company logo could be seen on digital advertising around the ground during matches and on seats in both dugouts.

However, not long after news has emerged of a legal battle between INEOS and New Zealand Rugby due to Ratcliffe’s company pulling out of the sponsorship deal early.

That said, the exit with Spurs appears to be being handled amicably, despite the contract looking to end two years early.

At the time of the deal being struck, INEOS celebrated the partnership as working with “a team that embodies our own tenacity and spirit, both on and off the pitch”

The Grenadier became the “the official 4×4 vehicle partner” for the north London club, with players such as Ben Davies, Dominic Solanke, Guglielmo Vicario, Timo Werner, Archie Gray and Yves Bissouma all filming content for the company’s website.
