Manchester United are expected to prioritise attacking reinforcements this summer as Red Devils under Ruben Amorim continue to struggle for goals.

Their lack of firepower has been a persistent issue, with the team rarely scoring more than once per game.

Inconsistency at Old Trafford has only heightened concerns, especially after loaning out key forwards last month.

Marcus Rashford joined Aston Villa, Antony moved to Real Betis, and Ethan Wheatley went to Walsall for the rest of the season.

Despite these departures, United did not bring in any attacking players during the January transfer window.

Their only signings were defenders, with left-back Patrick Dorgu arriving from Lecce and centre-back Ayden Heaven joining from Arsenal.

Ruben Amorim has hinted that Dorgu could be used in a more advanced role, but the need for a striker remains clear.

United have been heavily linked with Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyökeres ahead of the summer window.

However, with both strikers expected to cost around £60-70 million, the club are reluctant to meet those fees.

Red Devils eye Samu Aghehowa who Ruben Amorim hugely admires

According to GiveMeSport, Porto forward Samu Aghehowa has emerged as an alternative target.

Aghehowa impressed against United earlier this season, scoring twice in the Europa League.

United scouts were present to watch Porto’s 1-1 draw with Sporting this month as they continue to monitor the 20-year-old.

His release clause is reportedly over £83 million, meaning United would still have to spend significantly to sign him.

United are attracted to Aghehowa’s pace and power, with sources describing him as “physically unbelievable” and built for the Premier League.

Ruben Amorim is also a big admirer, with reports from December claiming he recommended the club sign the Spanish striker.

Aghehowa nearly joined Chelsea last summer in a £34.5 million deal from Atletico Madrid, but the move collapsed due to contract issues.

United’s focus on young talent continues, having already signed Leny Yoro and Dorgu in recent months.

With a summer rebuild on the horizon, Aghehowa could be the next emerging star added to their ranks.
