Last season, the Manchester United squad was plagued with injuries, with Erik ten Hag attributing this to the club’s poor eighth-place finish at the end of the season.
The Dutch manager was without a left-back for the season with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia both ruled out, with several other stars in and out of the treatment room also.
Unfortunately, this season has been much of the same.
Rasmus Hojlund and Leny Yoro were injured in the pre-season ruling them out of the start of the Premier League campaign.
Mason Mount has suffered a handful of injuries too, with the likes of Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof also suffering regular stints on the side-line recovering.
Now, in a bid to support the club in improving the conditioning of their stars, The Times has reported that United have called on a world-class athletics coach as a consultant.

Manchester United welcome Harry Marra to Carrington
Harry Marra has a track record in supporting sports stars to win at the top level, guiding Ashton Eaton to back-to-back Olympic Gold medals in Decathlon in 2012 and 2016.
Eaton is Marra’s most high profile athlete, however, he’s also helped several other multi-event specialists throughout his career as a coach.
After the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro, Marra was named the World Athletics coach of the year and has recently acted as a consultant to the Major League Baseball team San Francisco Giants, helping with their speed and fitness.
Now, United are calling on his vast array of knowledge and experience to support the sports science staff at Old Trafford.
However, Marra isn’t the first to have supported at Carrington this year.
This season the club have hosted a range of expert-led events covering key areas such as medical and injury management, movement mechanics, nutrition and strength training.
These sessions have involved professionals from within and outside the football industry, with the aim of growing the knowledge and expertise of the United staff.
