Manchester United are on the brink of signing talented young left-back Patrick Dorgu, with his transfer fee now being revealed.

United have been locked in a dance with Lecce over the recent weeks, with The Red Devils submitting offers for Dorgu, only to be rejected by the Italian club.

United recently launched a bid of £25 million (€30 million) for the youngster, only to be rejected by Lecce who are holding out for £33 million (€40 million).

Since then United and Lecce have been locked in talks to get a deal across the line, with Lecce already identifying Dorgu’s replacement.

The Italian club are turning to right-back Danilo Veiga from Estrela Amadora.

Whilst Dorgu is a left-back originally, Lecce have been deploying him on the right wing, making Amadora a strong replacement to slot onto the right wing.

This versatility of Dorgu’s highlighted him to Amorim and established United’s desire to sign him this January.

Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that that the fee agreed by the two clubs stands at £24 million (€30 million) plus £6.3 million (€7 million) in add-ons, taking it to a total of £30.3 million (€37.5 million).

However, The King of the Transfer Market, Fabrizio Romano is being very active, commenting on sources on X referencing this information.

Romano is consistently saying that the actual transfer fee sits lower than what Di Marzio is reporting.

With Romano actively commenting on posts, it gives significant credibility to the claim, however also teases that the true fee will be revealed by Romano at any point.
