Alejandro Garnacho looks set to leave Old Trafford this month as the Argentine winger is being pursued by Napoli.
Antonio Conte is determined to land the 20-year-old as he plans for life without Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
With the Georgian star now moved to Paris Saint-Germain, Napoli are in need of a strong winger to slot into his spot in the starting lineup.
Enter Alejandro Garnacho.
The Argentine has been more of an impact substitute under new manager Ruben Amorim, a backward step from the starting eleven spot he held under Erik ten Hag.
As such, a move to Napoli could see Garnacho get more minutes on the pitch, with the youngster verbally agreeing personal terms.
Yesterday representatives from Manchester United flew to Italy to discuss a deal for Garnacho’s departure.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the situation so far.
The King of the Transfer Window has commented that Napoli’s opening bid for Garnacho was in fact “worth €50 million” including add-ons. This works out as approximately £42 million, only sightly above what has previously reported.
This was rejected with United wanting more. Originally United we looking for £60 million for the star, but this is now being reported as closer to £75 million.
Despite the rejection, Napoli aren’t giving up, with the Italian side still keen to get their man.
However, they now face competition from Chelsea who are also keen on signing the Argentine.
The Premier League side have reportedly already contacted United and Garnacho’s camp to discuss availability, with the London-based club now set to decide if they want to bid for the youngster.
