It was reported this morning that Manchester United have loaned out striker Joe Hugill to Carlisle United for the rest of the season and now, another deal has been agreed.

The 21-year-old saw the first half of the season with League One side Wigan Athletic, however, was recalled due to a lack of game time.

United’s aim with the loan, as with the deals for their other fringe players, is to get them more minutes on the pitch to help them develop further.

As such, Hugill returned to Carrington with the aim of heading elsewhere for the rest of the season to get more experience under his belt.

Carlisle are bottom of League Two, five points below the relegation buffer set to head down a league along with Morecambe.

However, the Northern club are hope that the injection of strength in attack from Hugill’s signing can help to keep them up.

Now, Cheltenham Town have also called on a young United star to help them out for the rest of the season.

The loan is set to run to the end of the season, with a fight for promotion play-offs not yet off the table.
