Napoli are pushing to sign Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho this January transfer window.
The left winger’s place in Ruben Amorim’s squad is seemingly uncertain as he’s taken a back seat from the starting line-ups, despite a breakthrough season last year.
Garnacho not only got a nomination for the Golden Boy award but also won the Puskas Award for a goal against Everton when replicating Cristiano Ronaldo’s Puskas-winning bicycle kick.
However, this seemingly isn’t enough to secure a spot in Amorim’s line-up. With the new manager’s style very different to that of Erik ten Hag, Garnacho is finding himself either having to play more centrally or become more of a left-wing-back.
Now, Garnacho is being given a chance for more first-team football as Antonio Conte has identified the star as a key target on his short-list.
The Argentine is being targeted to replace outgoing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia who is set to join PSG.
However, Conte is now hoping to use a secret weapon of his to lure the youngster to Italy.

Arena Napoli has reported that in a bid to secure Garnacho’s signature, Conte is hoping that the presence of Scott McTominay in the squad can lure the 20-year-old to the club.
The pair are still friends from their time at Old Trafford together, before McTominay joined the Azzurri this summer.
Whilst United are hoping to retain Garnacho, they may be forced into the sale given their current financial struggles.
In a bid to retain the star, United have put a price tag of £70 million on Garnacho, however, a sale would be a massive financial boost for the club.
As a graduate of the academy, his sale would constitute pure profit, with the club needing sales to generate funds for new signings.
