Erik ten Hag in line for Bundesliga manager job

The 54-year-old may well have found his next club after being sacked by Manchester United earlier this season.

Erik ten Hag is a name very much familiar to the ears of Manchester United fans.

Having arrived in 2022, the Dutchman’s hype was at its highest after his brilliant stint at Ajax.

A strong first season saw ten Hag lead United to a top four finish, bringing the best out of Marcus Rashford.

However, the second season was nothing alike.

Despite winning the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, the performances and results were not of the required level.

Not to forget, fallouts with Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo.

His sacking perhaps came too late, considering fans had pretty much lost hope in ten Hag long before.

Since taking time out of the game, he has been linked to becoming the next boss of a certain German club.

The club he may well join is Borussia Dortmund, who currently sit eighth in the league table.

According to Florian Plettenberg on X, Erik ten Hag is acting as a shadow coach for Dortmund.

Despite the team’s struggles in the league, Nuri Sahin retains the trust of Dortmund’s management.

Ten Hag was seen in the stands during Dortmund’s most recent match.

He reportedly maintains a strong relationship with Dortmund advisor Matthias Sammer.

Sky Germany reported that Sahin still relishes “full confidence of the club management.”

However, should fourth place look unreachable under Sahin then Dortmund will look to Ten Hag who currently stands as a popular candidate.
