That player is Kobbie Mainoo, who could be a shock exit for United this season.
United’s need to comply with financial rules and raise funds, may lead to the sale of the 19-year-old.
Chelsea’s interest was made clear in the teenage talent.
However according to The Sun, Bayern Munich have now joined the race for the central midfielder.
The German giants are long-term admirers of Mainoo and plan to make a move if United make him available for sale.
Amorim has provided Mainoo with regular game time and stated he wants to keep his best players.
“Our idea is always to keep the best players and the players that we build for this club,” Amorim told reporters ahead of the FA Cup win over Arsenal.
“But we know the position that the club is in at the moment.
“We will see but I really like our players, especially from the academy.
“I’m really happy with Kobbie, he’s improving.”
It would certainly come as a huge shock, arguably the biggest in recent years if Mainoo does depart United in the near future.
Fans will hope he is tied down for the long-term.
