Manchester United have knocked Arsenal out of the FA Cup on penalties after a thrilling encounter at the Emirates.

Joshua Zirkzee scored the decisive spot-kick as United triumphed in a tense shootout.

The match began cautiously, with neither side creating much in the first half.

United sat in a low block, effectively neutralising Arsenal’s attacking threat and dealing well with set pieces.

The game came to life in the second half when Bruno Fernandes finished off a flowing counterattack with a brilliant strike into the top corner to give United the lead.

However, the momentum shifted dramatically five minutes later when Diogo Dalot was sent off for a reckless challenge.

Arsenal quickly capitalised, equalising through a deflected effort.

Despite being down to 10 men, United displayed remarkable grit, hard work, and smart substitutions to push the game to extra time.

As well as Altay Bayindir delivering a superb performance, including a vital save to deny Martin Odegaard from the spot as well as Kai Havertz in the shootout.

With all five United takers converting their penalties, they advanced to the fourth round, where they will face Leicester City at Old Trafford.
