Manchester United’s search for attacking reinforcements has taken an intriguing turn as the January transfer window approaches.
With goals in short supply, United are actively exploring their options to strengthen up front.
Joshua Zirkzee is reportedly a target for Juventus, and there’s growing consensus that Rasmus Hojlund may not yet be ready to lead the line.
Top-tier forwards like Victor Osimhen have been linked to the club.
Additionally, Ruben Amorim is said to be keen on bringing Viktor Gyokeres to Old Trafford.
United have also been connected to less polished options, such as Samu Aghehowa.
Now, a fresh prospect from Italy has emerged on their radar.

According to Alfredo Pedulla, Manchester United are monitoring Inter Milan loanee Francesco Pio Esposito.
The 19-year-old has been in sensational form for Spezia in Serie B, netting nine goals this season.
Described as “extraordinary,” Esposito is attracting interest from multiple clubs, including Serie A sides, with Turin currently in the lead.
However, Esposito reportedly dreams of becoming a regular for Inter.
United’s interest places them in competition with Leicester City, currently managed by Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Despite his youth, Esposito has already scored seven goals in 11 appearances for Italy’s U21 side.
His ability to find the back of the net is complemented by his strong overall play.
Esposito ranks in the 89th percentile for progressive passes and the 96th for touches in the opponent’s box.
Standing at 6ft 2in, his aerial prowess is particularly impressive, averaging 5.58 aerial duels won per 90 minutes, placing him in the 95th percentile.
United’s interest in the Italian forward could represent a move with an eye on the future.
Fans may demand a striker more polished and proven.
However, Esposito’s talent makes for a player that would be difficult to miss out on as a transfer opportunity.
