Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has begun taking a closer look at the club’s academy talent.
Amorim attended the Under-21s’ dominant 5-1 victory over Southampton at Carrington.
The Portuguese manager, known for his youth-focused approach during his time at Sporting Lisbon, is now shifting some attention to United’s next generation.
Since Amorim’s appointment in November, his tenure has been challenging, yielding only four wins in 12 games.
While adapting to the Premier League has been tough, Amorim’s commitment to building a long-term project has been evident.
His system requires time to embed, with smart recruitment at the forefront.
Hence, the the involvement of academy prospects could provide both short and long-term benefits.

One standout player from the Under-21s match was 19-year-old Jack Moorhouse.
Moorhouse who scored twice, including a brilliant solo goal.
U21s assistant coach Dave Hughes described the midfielder’s performance as “really, really exciting.”
Moorhouse, nominated for December’s PL2 Player of the Month, has consistently impressed this season.
He was spotted training with the first team ahead of United’s upcoming FA Cup clash with Arsenal.

Other academy players, including 16-year-old defender Godwill Kukonki, Tyler Fredrickson, and Elyh Harrison, also joined first-team sessions.
Kukonki has already been involved in senior matchday squads due to injuries in the defensive line.
Moorhouse may have a chance to make his senior debut soon, considering the possible departure of Casemiro.
His development under Amorim’s watchful eye could signify the beginning of a more integrated pathway from academy to first team at Manchester United.
