Manchester United look set to have a busy January window in a departure from usual.
That means multiple sales on the horizon due to their financial situation.
It is well-known that United must sell before they can buy.
Fortunately for them, there are several expendable players in the squad.
Whether it’s due to high wages, poor fits for Amorim’s system, or underwhelming performances.
The club can afford to be ruthless this winter.
United will need to wait for the right buyers.
Fabrizio Romano reports that one potential sale is already gaining momentum with a deal looking closer.

Romano suggests that Juventus’ interest in Joshua Zirkzee is now “concrete” and the Italian club is “pushing” to complete the transfer.
Zirkzee hit rock bottom at United when fans booed him off against Newcastle.
However, he was warmly received during the Liverpool game, nearly providing the winning assist for Harry Maguire.
Following that match, Ruben Amorim said he would like to keep Zirkzee.
The Portuguese acknowledged that the transfer window could lead to unexpected moves.
The manager’s careful phrasing hinted at the possibility of a sale, which aligns with Romano’s latest update.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano revealed that Amorim is aware of Juventus’ growing interest in the striker.
Thus making him cautious in his public comments.
Romano said, “Juventus are really pushing for Joshua Zirkzee.
“They have a very good relationship with his agent, Kia Joorabchian.
“They are really interested.”
He continued, “The manager is Thiago Motta, he did an excellent job together with Zirkzee at Bologna last season.
“The interest of Juventus is really concrete, contacts with the player already started weeks ago.”
United will not entertain a simple loan deal, but Juventus are open to structuring an obligation to buy.
Therefore, making Zirkzee a top target.
Zirkzee’s sale could unlock United’s January plans, allowing them to reinvest in key areas of the squad.
The Dutchman’s move could also facilitate United’s pursuit of Randal Kolo Muani, a player Juventus are also tracking.
Additionally, United have monitored Dusan Vlahovic at Juventus.
A potential Zirkzee transfer could help progress talks for the Serbian striker.
For all involved, Zirkzee’s switch to Juventus makes sense, reuniting him with a manager who revitalised his career.
It would also free United to target a more suitable forward.
A deal appears increasingly likely, and Zirkzee could end January as a Juventus player while United secure a new striker.
Either permanently or on loan.
