Manchester United’s veteran midfielder Christian Eriksen is now well into his final year of contract at Old Trafford.
The Denmark international has been a key player for The Red Devils so far this season. Under Erik ten Hag and Ruud van Nistelrooy, Eriksen has made 13 appearances with four goals and three assists across all competitions.
However, with Ruben Amorim now in charge, the tactics and playstyle at Old Trafford are set to change, which could have a massive impact on the midfielder.
Fabrizio Romano has recently highlighted Eriksen as potentially set on missing out from Amorim’s appointment. The reported commented that Amorim is looking for “intensity” which the 32-year-old may not be able to provide. Eriksen is up against he likes of Bruno Fernandes, Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte to fight for his place in the squad, who could provide the intensity Amorim wants.

As such, Eriksen’s future at United is uncertain.
Ruben Amorim’s contract decision for Christian Eriksen
The Denmark international is currently away from Carrington on international duty. Denmark are set to face Spain and Serbia in the UEFA Nations League over the coming week, currently second in the group.
Eriksen has discussed his contract situation whilst on international duty, commenting: “I haven’t focused on it yet, and I haven’t heard anything from the club.”
He continued: “Right now it’s just about football, and then we have to see where we stand in January and for that matter in the summer.
“As a footballer, you just turn up and train, and then it is the coach who decides the team at the weekend. I have not set my hopes or expectations. It belongs to football.”
Unfortunately for Eriksen, an extension isn’t likely, with Amorim reportedly happy to sell the midfielder in January if a good offer arises.
