Ruben Amorim has a wealth of talent at his fingertips at the helm of Manchester United.

Players like Bruno Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho, Lisandro Martinez and Kobbie Mainoo have all cemented themselves in the squad by the end of last season.

However, new summer signings like Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui have instantly broken into the first squad.

Although, it’s another one of United’s new signings that Amorim is excited to be working with.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Amorim and his team are really interested in Leny Yoro as part of his long-term plan.

Yoro was unfortunately injured shortly after arriving at Old Trafford. The centre-back was side-lined in the opening game of their pre-season tour in the States against Arsenal.

The result was a broken metatarsal, with the 18-year-old requiring surgery to fix the issue. However, this has meant a long recovery with Yoro yet to make his competitive debut.

Interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy commented on Yoro’s recovery whilst in post, saying: “He’s been managed very well after his injury in pre-season. It was obviously going to be a long one.”

He continued: “Big moment, first time back in team training. He’ll be back partially over the coming weeks, and we’ll look to get him on board as quick as possible.”

Thankfully, Leny Yoro has been seen in team training once again, hinting at a return to the squad in the coming weeks.

This return is a huge boost for Amorim and his team who see him as a “generational talent”.

No doubt the French centre-back will be looking to make his mark when he gets back on the pitch.
