Manchester United is desperate to turn things around after a disappointing week that extended the club’s run of poor performances.
A 1-1 draw to Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce on Thursday 24th October saw United extend their winless streak in Europe to six games, only winning one in the last eleven, marking their worst European performance in 41 years.
Then, returning to the Premier League, Erik ten Hag’s men travelled to London for a match-up that saw West Ham United take all three points in a 2-1 win.
The match was marked by a controversial VAR decision to award a penalty in West Ham’s favour, giving them the winner, however, United’s dismal attacking performance saw an incredible number of opportunities created yet an inability to convert.

As such, The Red Devils have to turn things around, with the hope of some fresh blood on the cards for January giving the club the boost they need.
Manchester United look to up-and-coming Trent Alexander-Arnold replacement
Now, United are looking towards Red Bull Salzburg’s Amar Dedic as a potential boost to the defensive line.
Dedic is a key member of the Salzburg squad, making 17 appearances so far this season across all competitions, even grabbing four assists.
The 22-year-old has risen through the Salzburg academy, going on loan to their reserve squad, FC Liefering in 2019 before joining the Salzburg senior squad in 2021. Upon his return, Dedic had a successful loan with Wolfsberger AC, before coming back and establishing himself as the first-choice right-back.
However, CaughtOffside has reported that United are up against stiff competition, with rivals Liverpool pursuing him as a replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold if the England international joins Real Madrid in the summer.
Unfortunately, United’s recent run of form may make Liverpool a more appealing option to Dedic with the potential of continuing in Champions League football which he is enjoying with Salzburg despite sitting 34th in the table.
