As well as purchasing players in necessary positions, Manchester United’s new ownership also prioritised adding more depth to their squad last summer.
Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro were brought in to compete with United’s current centre-backs.
Joshua Zirkzee also plans to rival Rasmus Hojlund as Ten Hag’s first choice up front.
Now, United are eyeing a Champions League young talent to add more competition at right-back.

TEAMTalk report that United are interested in Red Bull Salzburg right-back Amar Dedic.
The Red Devils plan to approach the 22-year-old in January but will face competition from other top clubs.
It is thought that Brighton and Napoli are also monitoring the Bosnian talent.
Transfermarkt value Dedic at €20m, which is relatively cheap, considering his incredible versatility.
Dedic can play in every position in the back line and has featured at both left-back and right-back for Salzbrug this season.
However, Salzburg plan to demand €28m for him.

Napoli are deep in the race for Dedic and it is believed that they have the best chance of signing him.
Sometime in the next week, members of Napoli’s senior staff will meet Dedic’s entourage.
They will try to gauge his interest in a move to Serie A and understand his salary demands.
United already signed Noussair Mazraoui at right-back to rival Diogo Dalot.
Right now, Dalot is being used as a makeshift left-back in Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia’s absence.
It is unknown which of the players Erik ten Hag prefers at right-back.
Amar Dedic would add even further depth to an already strong position in United’s squad.
Ten Hag may plan to deploy him in his secondary and tertiary positions if United can beat Napoli to his signature.
