Manchester United’s scouts are often in Austria to observe players in the country’s first division.
Loanee goalkeeper Radek Vitek currently plays for BW Linz in the Austrian Bundesliga.
According to FussballNews, Manchester United had a scout in attendance for Red Bull Salzburg’s clash with Sparta Prague.
This gave United an opportunity to get a closer look at some of the side’s young talents.
Salzburg ended up losing the UEFA Champions League game 3-0, but some valuable information was likely learnt about their players from the affair.

Although it’s unclear exactly who the MUFC scouts were watching, there are a few potential candidates.
RB Salzburg talents
One of the players observed could be Samson Baidoo, with reports suggesting that United are interested in the 20 year old.
Baidoo is a centre-back with an estimated value of €8m, according to Transfermarkt.
In October 2023, he received his first call-up to the Austrian national team for two Euro 2024 qualifying games.
Another player that could be on United’s radar is Oscar Gloukh.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder could be seen as a potential long-term replacement for Bruno Fernandes.
The Israeli has scored 12 league goals in 47 appearances for Salzburg and has broken through as a starter in the side.
He has had a flying start to the season, with five goal contributions in three league games.
Transfermarkt estimates his market value to be around €25m.

18-year-old Adam Daghim could also be a player surveyed by United, with recent speculation over Antony’s future.
However, the right-winger has only made 11 appearances for Salzburg and has scored two goals in that time.
Daghim is a dynamic talent, able to play across all three positions in attack.
He has started three out of four league games for Salzburg and looks set to have a break out season.
These player profiles all match Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s plan to build a sustainable future for the club, headed by young talents.
If they made an impression on the scouts, United may decide to approach one of these players next summer.
